After Destroying Its Main Headquarters in Gaza City and Its Other Branches Across the Strip at the Beginning of the Aggression, the Occupation Destroys the Bar Association’s Temporary Headquarters After Targeting Sharab Tower in Central Gaza City
After destroying its main headquarters in Gaza City and its other branches across the Strip at the beginning of the aggression, the occupation destroyed the Palestinian Bar Association’s temporary headquarters after targeting Sharab Tower in central Gaza City yesterday evening.
The Palestinian Bar Association said in a press statement issued this morning that the Israeli occupation authorities destroyed the Bar Association’s temporary headquarters yesterday evening after targeting, bombing, and destroying Sharab Tower in central Gaza City, where the temporary headquarters was located. The Association noted that its main headquarters in the Gaza Strip, in addition to its other branches across the Strip, had previously been destroyed by the Israeli occupation at the beginning of the aggression.
The Association added that the policy pursued by the occupation authorities, amid the continuation of the raging war of genocide against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, through targeting what remains of infrastructure, service facilities, buildings, and residential towers in Gaza City, accompanied by killings, the forced displacement of tens of thousands of unarmed civilians, and the destruction of what remains of such infrastructure and facilities throughout the Strip, comes within the context of expanding the scope of this aggression as part of the occupation’s broader plans to render the Strip uninhabitable and, in parallel, to implement the occupation’s strategic project of forcibly displacing the Palestinian people from their land.
The Association stressed that the entire world today stands at a decisive crossroads and must choose between an unprecedented project of arrogance that has become a clear regional and international threat, and the activation of accountability mechanisms to restrain this madness and excessive hubris, which at every moment and through every act shows contempt for international law and international norms.
The Association added that the danger posed by the continuation of these crimes and their direct threat to international peace and security, together with the continued granting by certain major powers of a status to the occupation that places it above international law, requires the international community, international human rights institutions, and free people around the world to stand united against tyranny in defense of human values before it is too late, and until the Palestinian people attain their freedom, their natural right to self-determination, and the right to live in freedom and dignity like all other peoples of the world.
